A ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan today to formally announce the dual nationality facility to eligible nationals of Denmark and operationalizing of services in this regard. A large number of Pakistan community members, office holders of their Associations and representatives of Pakistani media attended the event.
In his remarks on the occasion, Ambassador Syed Zulfiqar Gardezi underscored the priority accorded by the government to facilitate the Pakistani community overseas. The MRP services were started in this Mission in June 2014 and with the extension of dual nationality facility, another long-standing demand of the community had been met. Ambassador Gardezi praised the support of the Foreign Affairs and the Interior Ministries, efforts of his predecessors / colleagues and the Pakistani community which helped him in fulfilling the promise made to the Pakistani community on his arrival in this country in August this year. During the ceremony, the Ambassador handed over the first Pakistani passport to a Danish national of Pakistani origin.
Members of the Pakistani community warmly welcomed the decision of the Pakistani government and appreciated that their long-standing demand had been met.

It has come to the notice of the Embassy of Pakistan Copenhagen that some recently established self-styled “NADRA Advice Bureaus” are charging money from the applicants for helping them submit their Online NADRA Applications.
The Embassy clarifies that these “NADRA Advice Bureaus” operating at some places in Denmark are unauthorized entities, not sanctioned by the Embassy.
It may be noted that the Online Application Service for NICOP/PoC was started to facilitate the applicants to submit their NICOP/PoC applications from any place of convenience.
Since such Bureaus have no official authorization to operate, the Embassy will not be responsible for loss of money or theft of information of the applicants. Some of the applicants are already facing difficulties in NICOP processing due to fudging in their applications by the above mentioned Bureaus.
The purported “NADRA Advice Bureaus” are also warned that any use of the logo of the Government of Pakistan would be illegal and liable to prosecution.
The Pakistani community members, in their own interest, are advised to beware of the situation.
