Political relations

Pakistan and Denmark enjoy cordial bilateral relations. In order to institutionalize official bilateral interaction, an MoU on Bilateral Political Consultations was signed on 2 March 2018.

The first Round of the Bilateral Political Consultations was held on 2 March 2018 in Copenhagen and the Second Round was held virtually on 25 November 2020 due to the Covid-19 situation.

High level Meetings and Visits:

  • 2 July 2020: Virtual meeting between H.E. Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Foreign Minister of Pakistan and H.E. Mr. Jeppe Kofod, Foreign Minister of Denmark.
  • 21 August 2019: Telephone conversation between H.E. Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Foreign Minister of Pakistan and H.E. Mr. Jeppe Kofod, Foreign Minister of Denmark.
  • 21-24 January 2020: Meeting between H.E. Mr. Jeppe Kofod Foreign Minister of Denmark and H.E. Mr. Razzaq Dawood, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Commerce on the sidelines of the World Economic Summit, Davos, Switzerland.
  • 11-17 April 2018: Visit of Mir Ghazanfar Ali Khan, Governor Gilgit-Baltistan to Denmark to promote tourism sector in Gilgit-Baltistan.
  • 19-22 October 2017: Visit of H.E. Sardar Mohammad Masood Khan President Azad Jammu and Kashmir to attend a Conference titled: “Human Rights Violation in Kashmir.”
  • 5 Oct. 2016: Meeting between H.E. Mr. Kristen Jensen, Foreign Minister of Denmark and H.E. Mr. Sartaj Aziz, Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs and Security on the side-lines of Brussels Conference on Afghanistan.
  • 16 July 2016: Meeting between H.E. Mr. Kristen Jensen, Foreign Minister of Denmark and H.E. Mr. Sartaj Aziz, Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs and Security on the side-lines 11th ASEM Summit in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
  • 5-6 Nov. 2015: Meeting between H.E. Mr. Kristen Jensen, Foreign Minister of Denmark and H.E. Mr. Sartaj Aziz, Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs and Security on the side-lines of 12th Asia Europe Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (ASEMFM12) in Luxembourg.
