Kashmir Solidarity Day Observed in Denmark

The Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed in Denmark with a number of activities organized by the Embassy and the Pakistani community here. At a well-attended Seminar held at Brøndby Kommune (Municipality) today, prominent speakers including Members of Danish Parliament Ulla Sandbæck and Mattias Tesfaye, representatives of Danish political parties, officer bearers of Tehreek-e-Kashmir and others spoke to an audience comprising Danish people and members of the Pakistani community.

The speakers highlighted various dimensions of the Kashmir issue. References were especially made to the Reports of Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNOHCHR) and the UK’s APPG cataloguing massive human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir. Mattias Tesfaye MP said he would share the OHCHR Report with his Social Democratic Party colleagues and also seek comments of the government on it. Ulla Sandbæck of the The Alternative Party felt that human rights violations in IoK were being ignored by governments for political expediency.

In his remarks, Ambassador Syed Zulfiqar Gardezi noted that Kashmir dispute was internationally recognized and its fair settlement was of paramount importance for Pakistan being one of the parties. Cross-Line of Control firing by Indian forces has resulted in loss of many previous lives. Ambassador Gardezi stated that in their Solidarity Day messages, the leadership of Pakistan had affirmed in clear terms Pakistan’s political, diplomatic and moral support to the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for the right to self-determination. The OHCHR and UK’s APPG reports were a vindication of Pakistan’s point of view and a Commission of Inquiry be constituted. Ambassador Gardezi praised the role of Tehreek-e-Kashmir Denmark for highlighting the Kashmir issue in Danish circles.

On the sidelines, a photographic exhibition depicting Indian brutalities in IoK were displayed. Highlights of OHCHR Report, in Danish, and other material on Kashmir was distributed among the attendees.

NADRA Advice Bureaus Are Unauthorized Entities

It has come to the notice of the Embassy of Pakistan Copenhagen that some recently established self-styled “NADRA Advice Bureaus” are charging money from the applicants for helping them submit their Online NADRA Applications.

The Embassy clarifies that these “NADRA Advice Bureaus” operating at some places in Denmark are unauthorized entities, not sanctioned by the Embassy.

It may be noted that the Online Application Service for NICOP/PoC was started to facilitate the applicants to submit their NICOP/PoC applications from any place of convenience.

Since such Bureaus have no official authorization to operate, the Embassy will not be responsible for loss of money or theft of information of the applicants. Some of the applicants are already facing difficulties in NICOP processing due to fudging in their applications by the above mentioned Bureaus.

The purported “NADRA Advice Bureaus” are also warned that any use of the logo of the Government of Pakistan would be illegal and liable to prosecution.

The Pakistani community members, in their own interest, are advised to beware of the situation.
