The Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed in Denmark to express solidarity with the suppressed people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK). The Embassy organized a “Round Table Conference on Kashmir” on 5 February which was attended by around 50 guests including Member of Danish Parliament, select representatives of Copenhagen-based human rights organizations, media, think tanks, academics in addition to Pakistani/Kashmiri community members.
Welcoming the participants, Ms. Ismat Hassan, Charge d’ Affaires highlighted different dimensions of the Kashmir Issue. She stated that the legitimate demand of Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination over the course of the past seven decades has been met with illegal and untenable annexation of IOJK by India on August 5. Subsequently, the Indian government imposed inhuman lockdown, enforcing communication blockade besides additional measures to further brutalize the Kashmir people to deter them from protesting. The CdA reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to continue to extend moral, diplomatic and political support for the people of IOJK.
Other participants to the conference discussed the egregious human rights situation in IOJK including detention of mainstream Kashmiri leaders, human rights activists and journalists as a deterrence tool by the Indian Security Forces. The conference urged the international community to intervene immediately for an end to the suffering of the Kashmiri people.
Kashmir related material was disseminated amongst the participants. Additionally, messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan on the occasion were placed on Embassy’s website as well as Facebook page. Refreshment was served at the end.

It has come to the notice of the Embassy of Pakistan Copenhagen that some recently established self-styled “NADRA Advice Bureaus” are charging money from the applicants for helping them submit their Online NADRA Applications.
The Embassy clarifies that these “NADRA Advice Bureaus” operating at some places in Denmark are unauthorized entities, not sanctioned by the Embassy.
It may be noted that the Online Application Service for NICOP/PoC was started to facilitate the applicants to submit their NICOP/PoC applications from any place of convenience.
Since such Bureaus have no official authorization to operate, the Embassy will not be responsible for loss of money or theft of information of the applicants. Some of the applicants are already facing difficulties in NICOP processing due to fudging in their applications by the above mentioned Bureaus.
The purported “NADRA Advice Bureaus” are also warned that any use of the logo of the Government of Pakistan would be illegal and liable to prosecution.
The Pakistani community members, in their own interest, are advised to beware of the situation.
