The Embassy of Pakistan, Copenhagen today celebrated the Pakistan Day in a simple but befitting ceremony. The event was attended by officers and staff of the Embassy alongwith family members in accordance with the local guidelines in relation to COVID-19. The event was live streamed for the Pakistani community.

The flag hoisting was performed by Ambassador Ahmad Farooq. Messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out.

In his remarks on the occasion, the Ambassador provided an overview of the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Denmark. He highlighted the cordial nature of relationship between Pakistan and Denmark. Further efforts were been undertaken consistently to add layers of sustentative partnership between Pakistan and Denmark. He highlighted the holding of Bilateral Political Consultations virtually and the resultant enhancement of understanding towards a Green Partnership between Pakistan and Denmark. New academic linkages between Pakistani and Danish institutions with other possible partnerships were being followed and encouraged. He also highlighted efforts at improving consular services including through the use of modern queue system and e-visa services.

The Ambassador emphasized the need to register with the new and updated website of the Embassy of Pakistan for the purposes of enhanced connectivity and engagements.    

The Ambassador also referred to the ongoing human rights violations being committed by the Indian security forces in IIOJ&K and underscored the commitment of the Government and people of Pakistan to steadfastly support the Kashmiris until they attained their right to self-determination.

The Ambassador appreciated the positive contributions of the Pakistani community in Denmark which was well-integrated and politically active. He expressed the desire to particularly engage the youth of the community, which was well-educated, for furthering Pakistan’s economic agenda.
