The Embassy of Pakistan, Copenhagen observed 5th August 2021 as Youm-e-Istehsal (Day of Exploitation) of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJ&K). The period since 5th August 2019 has been marked with military siege, lockdown, inhuman crack downs, serious violations of human rights including extrajudicial killings, torture, illegal detentions and cutting off of means of communications.
In addition to the human rights violations, there are institutionalized efforts to change the demography of IIOJ&K. The Indian government has enacted new laws to facilitate the settlement of non-Kashmiris in the occupied territory and acquire property there. This is a clear violation of the established norms of international law including that of the United Nations Security Council resolutions and the 4th Geneva Convention.
To express our steadfast support to the oppressed people to IIOJ&K, a number of individuals of conscience including from Kashmiri and Pakistani diaspora gathered today at the Embassy of Pakistan, Copenhagen. The Government and the people of Pakistan will steadfastly support the just cause of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. We will continue to raise our voice until the Kashmiri people will attain their right of self-determination. We are certain that the Kashmir cause will come to fruition.
